The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of The Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo and the Chairman of the Executive Committee, the Dignitary Khalid Kanoo, confirmed that the Executive Committee of the Award was keen to provide the elements of experience, competence, knowledge and practical practice in selecting the members of the Judging Committee for the Economic Competition, especially that the topic of the Competition is related to the Corona pandemic and its consequences on the economy, which requires diverse capabilities and experience from the members of the Committee to enable them to properly evaluate the participating research papers. The Dignitary Khalid Kanoo expressed his happiness at the high rate of participation in the Economic Competition for the Eleventh Season, which statistics show, as the number of participants by the end of May 2023 reached 60 participants, with participation from various Arab countries and from prestigious Arab universities and scientific institutions, with expectations of an increase in the coming weeks.
The deadline for submitting the research papers participating in the Economic Competition for the Eleventh Season, entitled (Corona Pandemic and Economic Recovery), ends on 1 July, 2023, and they will be submitted to the Office of the General Secretariat of the Award in two copies, the first printed and the second electronic. The Judging Committee will begin its work on 1 August, 2023, after the initial screening process for the research papers.
It is worth noting that The Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Award launched competitions in the current Season in the fields of Economies, University Scientific Research, and fine art. The total prizes for the competitions amount to 74 thousand US dollars, which will go to the winners of the First Places in each competition. The Award comes within the initiatives of The Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Group of Companies in the field of social responsibility, and is keen to encourage excellence in science, scientific research, and creativity in culture and arts, not only in the Gulf, but in all the Arab countries.
